“Physically, I have a narrow air passageway… With my teeth fixed, I will have a more peaceful and restful sleep.”

In Their Own Words

I will start this essay with my future goals and dreams. The main thing I want in my future is to make people laugh and help whenever I can. I want to put a smile on people’s faces, and I want to help, whether they are struggling mentally or maybe need help with a task.

The other thing I want is to lead a successful life. I plan to go to a college and find a job that has to do with science, mathematics, or engineering, though I haven’t settled on a specific job. I want to be able to support myself and my family financially, along with different charities or people just struggling.

Next, I will talk about how my teeth affect my everyday life, and how it can go if left untreated. Some of my friends are having their teeth fixed, and although I’d like to say I’m not affected at all, there always is a slight insecurity seeing their teeth compared to mine. On occasion, my friends also tease me a bit on how messed up they are. Physically, I have a narrow air passageway. The results of my teeth being moved and jaw expanded, it’ll help correct the passageway and open it up a bit. This will be shown even more while I’m asleep.

In the past, I’ve had snoring or just general sounds of struggling breathing in my sleep caused by this. With my teeth fixed, I will have a more peaceful and restful sleep. In the long term, left unfixed, I would have to get teeth pulled to avert overcrowding in my mouth due to there not being enough space. That crowding could be uncomfortable or even painful.

Lastly, I’ll talk about how I can carry on with the blessing getting this grant. Going back previously, I want to make people smile and be more confident. This task will be easier because people find a nice, straight smile more presentable and comforting. Unfortunately, job opportunities can also be lost due to the less presentable feeling of crooked teeth. In order to help out organizations and communities, financially wise, I of course would need a good job, and can’t afford to not have enough money to do so all because of my teeth.

Overall, I would really appreciate it if I could be granted this blessing. Either way, I am happy to be given this opportunity.

Thank you.
