Meet Ja’Nariah

In Their Own Words
Everyone has insecurities, and all it takes is a small spark from a dream to make it a reality. As a teenager, I have struggled with self-confidence, not just in general, but with my smile. I have always been a dreamer, one who manifests a chance to do better and be better. I knew braces would not just help my teeth look better, but they would boost my confidence and help me feel beautiful.
Growing up, my insecurities have made me feel less than others. A smile speaks so much about a person. Braces would help me feel more confident, give me a brighter smile, and show others that even though I didn’t always feel confident, I could become confident. Getting braces would give me freedom—freedom to smile brightly without hiding back hesitation, to speak with confidence, and freedom to show the world who I really am.
I am blessed enough to receive this opportunity, and I know this blessing should not be wasted. Braces will not only give me a better smile but a better future. The blessing of braces will empower me to inspire others, to tell them that they too can shine and show the world their smile with pride. When I see people that look confident and happy, it inspires me. It pushes me to want to be that person. I want to give back, to help others around me, whether it’s volunteering, being a role model, or showing younger kids that no matter their struggles, change is possible.
Finally, braces will help me smile with pride and joy. I want to be a beacon of light that makes a difference, not only in my family, but in the community. A brighter smile makes a brighter world, and in the future, I hope to shine that light so that others can shine as well.
